Easy Start

Purchased this Makita blower several years ago. I have not had one problem with my Makita blower and it is 1,000 times easier to start than any 2 cycle engine. I had to stop doing my own lawn work for over 9 months because I had two knee replacement surgeries 6 months apart. After sitting ideal for 9 months, today I changed the oil, fill the tank with gas and it started on the 2nd pull of the cord. It is for certain a great buy for a professional lawn guy.

blown away

Bought this blower after dealing with two other blowers I have had that had problems. They were 2 cycle and was hard to start in cold weather. Hello' it's cold in the fall when the leaves fall. With the Makita, it started when the temp. was in the twenties. No problem.

Very satisfied

I purchased this blower after comparing and reviewing several different name brand models. I wasn't sure about Makita with a gas powered engine but all their electric tools are top notch. I decided to go with the Makita because of their reputation and the fact that this model is a 4 stroke gas blower (No oil mixing). I followed the directions and it cranked on the third pull. ( Took that long to get the gas in the carb) Every since that it cranks the first pull after priming it. It has excellent blowing power and is very quiet. I am very pleased with its preformance. The only con is being a hand held blower it does get tiresome holding it for long periods of time a shoulder strap would be very helpful designed to work with it.

Highly Recommended

Owned it for 2 years and it has never failed to start. It's almost fun to start. It's quiet with more than enough power. I'd guess the 2 strokes may have a better power-to-weight ratio, but if you can't start the 2 strokes, they aren't much good, are they?

If you have ever lived through the unbridled rage of having something that did not start on a consistent basis, this is a wonderful machine. I love it.

Although you don't have to mix the oil, you'd better be careful to make sure you change the oil and check it, this is a little engine and I'd guess it would not tolerate being run out of oil.

If you are using it and turn it on it's side or upside down, it will spew out oil smoke. It's only happened to me twice and it's not a big deal, not something I feel is a negative, given the quietness and ease of starting.
